MAHR LIGHT STATIONS AGAINST CANDLE SOOT

Candles are commonplace objects in our churches. For churchgoers they are an expression of piety, reverence, hope and gratitude. A less-known fact is, however, that the burning candles produce considerable amounts of soot, leading frequently to costly restoration work.

Our MAHR Light Stations allow to burn sacrificial candles with hardly any amount of soot finding its way into the church space. With the help of a specially developed suction and filtering mechanism more than 99% of the candle soot are filtered out. The filtered combustion air is redirected into the church space, thus avoiding any air exchange - a thing considered undesirable, especially in winter.

Our references show various Light Stations delivered. In some cases the candle soot filtering station is built below ground. Occasionally the constructions were designed in collaboration with local artists.
